30 Days of New Who | Day 11 | Scene/Moment that made you cry

I don’t think I’m alone in this bit. The end of “Doomsday” kills me. Slays me. Ten and Rose were lovely at the end of their time together. When she chokes out “I love you,” if you don’t have a tear in your eye you’re stone inside. I don’t even really care for Rose, and I was bawling like a baby!

30 Days of New Who | Day 10 | Favorite Scene/Moment

The Doctor: Amy, you need to start trusting me. It’s never been more important.
Amy Pond: But you don’t always tell me the truth.
The Doctor: If I always told you the truth, I wouldn’t need you to trust me.
Amy Pond: Doctor. The crack in my wall. How can it be here?
The Doctor: I don’t know yet, but I’m working it out.
The Doctor: Now, listen. Remember what I told you when you were seven.
Amy Pond: What did you tell me?

30 Days of New Who | Day 09 | Least Favorite Episode

Daleks in Manhattan is a waste of time, absolutely ridiculous and the show is capable of so much more.

30 Days of New Who | Day 08 | Favorite Series

I don’t know what it is about Series 5, but it’s like everything came together perfectly on it, at least in my opinion. There’s an incredible chemistry with the cast, having them all fresh. The writing is crazy sharp. The series is beauuuutiful visually. This one was easy.

30 Days of New Who | Day 07 | Favorite Episode

The Pandorica Opens / The Big Bang has got to be my favorite episode (pair). It’s everything Who should be, at least New Who. Epic, beautiful, tying some loose ends and unraveling others. Such a great plot, an even better character piece. I can watch it over and over and still laugh/cry/get chills. Second on this list is The Eleventh Hour which I adore especially as a setup to my favorite season, but there is something about the tie-ins with the rest of the series that makes this serial special.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

30 Days of New Who | Day 06 | Least Favorite Character

This one was actually pretty difficult to come up with. I hated Jackie Tyler most of the time, and don’t care for Mickey either. Cassandra grosses me out, and I could do without some of the episodic featureds. But in the end I settled on the Daleks because they are my least favorite part of Doctor Who. I understand they are beloved by many but I can’t help but see them as something that ties the series back. Hokey, laughable. They aren’t even robots! They’re basically like that Prince dude in Men in Black only the Dyson model (see above). They’ll never get rid of them but I wish they would be infrequent, please? See also: the Cybermen (though they’re kind of cool in a Metropolis Bluetooth way).

30 Days of New Who | Day 05 | Favorite Guest Star

Blink is just universally loved, I think. The writing is fantastic, and for a Doctor Who episode it features so little Doctor, but I really feel like Miss Sally Sparrow picks up the slack very well. An incredible episode, and a great performance by Carey.

30 Days of New Who | Day 04 | Favorite Character

Maybe it’s because as of today she’s still an enigma, maybe it’s because she’s just plain incredible, either way I am having a bit of a fandom love affair with River Song. Where does she come from? What does she mean? Why is she so badass and tragic at the same time? I hope we find out soon. Haters to the left.

30 Days of New Who | Day 03 | Favorite Villain/Monster/Alien/Baddie of the Week

More than the angels, the Silence, the Daleks, Cybermen, more than any other Baddie… I’m fascinated by the Vashta Nerada. I wish they’d pop up again - how scary is a double shadow mark for death? And their near instantaneous devouring of a whole human. Scary ass stuff. The only other Baddie that comes close is the Master, for me, but his love of bad pop songs makes him a little laughable.

30 Days of New Who | Day 02 | Favorite Companion

Donna Noble, Super Temp. Hands down. Slightly hyperactive. Fringing on desperate for love. Never condescending and always pushing the Doctor to really see elements of his own adapted humanity. Champion of friendship and queen of the TARDIS.
